
Dr. Gordana Buljan Flander
Prof. dr. sc. Gordana Buljan Flander, Director of the Child Protection Center of Zagreb has been working with children for thirty years of her career. As a child psychologist of Children’s Hospital Zagreb, she often worked with abused and neglected children who had not had the necessary protection from adults. This is the reason why she was among the first professionals in Croatia to recognise the issue of child abuse and neglect and to devote her further work to that issue.
She is the founder of the Brave Phone, help-line for abused and neglected children and of the Child Protection Center of Zagreb. The Center has been recognised as a model of good practice by the Council of Europe and was, as such, presented in the UN.
Gordana Buljan Flander, Assoc. Prof., Ph. D. will hold three day education about the approach to sexually abused child in Teslić, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The education will be attended by professionals who work with children from high conflict families, centers, social care centers and school professionals. Education will be based on acquiring knowledge and skills in recognising, first interview and the treatment of sexually abused children and non-abusive parents.
Gordana Buljan Flander, Assoc. Prof., Ph. D., has been invited to participate as a lecturer in the Council of Europe Congress about stopping child sexual abuse and to present the Center’s development and procedures as examples of good practice in working with sexually abused children. The Congress will be in Strasbourg, 09 February 2012.
Workshop “Introduction into the relational-developmental model of child and adolescent psychotherapy” will be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia by recognised child gestalt and integrative psychotherapists Ken Evans and Joanna Hewitt Evans, directors of the European Centre for Psychotherapeutic Studies (Eurocps).
Dr. Buljan Flander will participate in the 19 Conference of the International Association of Forensic Sciences with two scientific papers.
Visit to the Child Protection Center of Zagreb is planned for the second day of the Conference when Center’s experts will present their approach to working with child victims of sexual abuse.
Dr. Buljan Flander has been invited to lecture at the 19 Annual Conference of Croatian psychologists in Osijek.

Each hour of a 24 hour internet radio show was dedicated to one of the variety of topics related to child sexual abuse awareness, prevention and support and basic facts related to this issue. Diane Cranley, the founder of the non-profit organisation TAALK (Talk About Abuse to Liberate Kids), whose main aim is the prevention and protection of children from sexual abuse, organised the 24 hour internet radio show with recognised expert speakers from around the world who have been working with sexually abused children, developing child sexual abuse prevention programs, working with the police and the judiciary raising awareness of the child sexual abuse problem; kao i same žrtve sexualnog zlostavljanja. - what the heck is this? One of the speakers was dr. Gordana Buljan Flander.

TAALK (Talk About Abuse to Liberate Kids), a non-profit organization, announces it`s first live on-line talk-show, dedicated to the international issue of child sexual abuse. TAALK has gathered more than 60 of the world's top experts and leaders in the child sexual abuse arena, which will be speaking about this issue during 24h, starting on April 29th, at 17 p.m. (Croatian time).

The seventeenth annual assembly of Croatian Psychological Chamber was organised within the Annual Conference of Croatian Psychologists. Principal of the Child Protection Center, Assoc.
